To begin with this particular recipe, we must first prepare a few components. You can have tex's chicken, cheese, and red onion toastie, jaffle, sanga using 7 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Tex's Chicken, Cheese, and Red Onion Toastie, Jaffle, Sanga:
  1. Get 2 slices medium-sliced white bread
  2. Prepare to taste butter
  3. Prepare to taste Swiss cheese (or Cheddar)
  4. Prepare sea salt and ground black pepper to season
  5. Make ready 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  6. Make ready to taste sliced chicken breast
  7. Make ready 1/4 red onion

Spread outsides of sandwiches with butter. In a small bowl, combine cheese, chives and onion. Top with remaining bread and place in heated jaffle iron. Slather the cheese-mayo mixture on boneless chicken breasts.

Instructions to make Tex's Chicken, Cheese, and Red Onion Toastie, Jaffle, Sanga:
  1. Thinly slice some red onion, and leave to pickle in some red wine vinegar, while you prepare the rest of the sandwich (see my recipe 'Tex's Pickled Red Onions' in my profile
  2. Toast the bread on one side, and butter the un-toasted sides
  3. Season both slices on the buttered side with salt and black pepper and a little dried thyme
  4. Add your filling to the toasted side of one slice of bread. Some thin-sliced Swiss first…
  5. Followed by some chicken breast pieces…
  6. …then some pickled red onion. If you want to add ketchup, BBQ sauce etc., do it now. Ill be serving mine on the side. Season, and add some more cheese. The Emmental cheese I'm using is not very salty, so I'm taking that into account
  7. Now put the lid on toasted side down. Press down, and put in a preheated sandwich toaster for about 6-7 minutes. Check to see if it's browned nicely, if not, give it a couple of minutes extra
  8. Before plating, cut and trim any unpleasant bits from your sandwich. I find scissors are the best tool for this

Top with remaining bread and place in heated jaffle iron. Slather the cheese-mayo mixture on boneless chicken breasts. Seriously, the hardest part is trying to refrain from opening the oven to take a peek! Just make sure to pound the chicken to a uniform thickness to ensure even cooking and you're all set for a dinner meal that's full on flavor! Wash and pat chicken breasts dry.
